Two Arrested for Drug Offences – Rugby Area

Two men have been arrested and drugs seized in Rugby on Tuesday, 22 September as part of a wider proactive policing operation.

Officers from Rugby’s Proactive CID team were on patrol on Leicester Road close to the junction of Consul Road in Brownsover when they stopped a vehicle that was suspected to have been involved in buying class A drugs in Birmingham. Officers searched the vehicle and found a quantity of crack cocaine and heroin.

Two men, both from Rugby, aged 39 and 44 were arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled class A drug with intent to supply. The 39-year-old was released on police bail ad the 44-year-old was released under investigation.
