Driver Arrested in Brownsover

A 31-year-old man from Rugby was arrested after a car failed to stop for police in Brownsover, Rugby yesterday evening. The car hit speeds of 80mph in a 40mph zone before hitting a kerb and bursting a tyre. The driver fled from the vehicle and was arrested in Ravenglass a short time later.

He was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and driving while disqualified. He remains in custody.
