Shop Lifter Identified Through Team Work in Atherstone
On Monday 2nd July, 2018, officers from the Atherstone Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team were alerted by retail radio members that a prolific shop lifter was in the town and trying to enter shops in an attempt to steal.
Locals PCSO’s were quickly on the scene working with the retail radio members and the town centre CCTV, the male was located and advised to leave the town centre.
The same male was later reported in the afternoon by a retail member leaving their store with a large quantity of washing powders and was quickly monitored by the town CCTV who relayed information back to Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team.
A male was quickly detained by officers and enquires are still ongoing regarding a number of other thefts that occurred over the weekend in Atherstone.
