Atherstone Retail Radio Scheme Assists More Successful Arrests

On Tuesday 23rd July 2018, officers from the Atherstone Police Safer Neighbourhood Team received a call on the retail radio that a disturbance was happening outside the Aldi Supermarket in Station Street, Atherstone.   Upon arrival, officers found that a local male had been detained by an off duty Police Special Officer for theft, assault and criminal damage.  The local Atherstone male was arrested at the scene and enquires are ongoing.

On Wednesday 24th July 2018 officers from the Atherstone Safer Neighbourhood Team were alerted by retail radio members that a prolific shop lifter was in the town and had just stolen a large quanity of clothing items.   Local Police Officers were quickly on the scene and working with the retail radio members and the town centre CCTV operators the offender was located nearby.  As a result a local male has been arrested for a number of thefts and has been recalled to prison.
