Further Witness Appeal to Fatal Collision in Atherstone

Officers from Warwickshire Police are issuing a renewed appeal for witnesses after a motorcyclist died in a collision near St Peter’s Church on Mancetter Road in Atherstone on Thursday, 5 July.
Police and ambulance services were called to the incident shortly after 4:30pm after receiving a report of an Aprilia motorcycle being involved in a collision with a grey Peugeot car.
Sadly the motorcycle driver, a 16-year-old boy, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Peugeot was not injured.
Previous information appeals have identified further witnesses that have now been spoken to but investigating officers are keen to speak with the driver of a tractor who is believed to have been driving in front of the vehicles at the time of the collision.
This driver may have important information that could help establish what happened in the moments before the collision.
PC Richard Watkinson from Warwickshire Police said: “If you saw the collision or have any information in relation to it we urge you to please call Warwickshire Police on 101 referencing incident number 335 of 5 July 2018.
“Alternatively you can call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or use their anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
“Our thoughts are with the young man’s family at this difficult time.”
