Alert to Purse Thefts in Atherstone

A number of purse thefts have recently been reported in Atherstone.

Please be vigilant, keep your purse in a secure place, if you have it in a bag please ensure this is closed and no one can see what is inside.

It is recommended that you should have your bag at the front of you, not at the side or behind you and carry over your shoulder.

Purse bells are available free of charge from Atherstone library and we have also put some in some of the shops on the High Street.

If you see anyone acting suspiciously please let the police know or if in a shop the security or shop owner.
