Warwickshire Police Launch Christmas Presence Campaign

With Advent starting this weekend , Warwickshire Police is launching it’s own calendar containing a different piece of advice every day.

While Christmas is a happy time for many people it does present opportunities for criminals and certain types of offending traditionally go up over the festive period.

Advice will focus on a number of areas such as violent crime, personal safety and domestic violence. It will also include advice to ensure people access the right service to help the force prioritise and respond more quickly to emergency calls.

You can open a different door each day on the force’s social media accounts on the link below:

Superintendent Mike Smith said: “Unfortunately, criminals take advantage of the Christmas period to commit certain types of crime. Fortunately, there are some simple steps people can take to keep themselves safe. We’ll be making this advice available throughout December.

“The festive period also places increased demand on the police service and we’re urging people to ensure they use the appropriate number when contacting police. The 999 number should only be used in an emergency. If it is not an emergency then please dial 101.”
