Local Police Support ‘Internet Legends’ Initiative for Young People

Be Internet Legends | Coming Soon
As part of Atherstone & Coleshill Safer Neighbourhood Teams committment to supporting our younger audience we are embarking on a project where an Internet Safety Education Package will be delivered to as many children in Atherstone & Coleshill as possible.
‘Be Internet Legends’ is a Google initiaive that is both engaging and interactive and will see officers from Atherstone & Coleshill Safer Neighbourhood Teams visit schools and deliver some key messages in a fun and engaging way.
The education package looks at 5 key points of internet safety,
Think Before You Share
will teach young people to thoughtfully consider what they share and with whom, and keep extra-sensitive information to themselves (such as their home address, current location, or other people’s business).
Check it’s For Real will teach young people to watch out for phishing and scams, and report questionable activity every time.
Protect Your Stuff
will talk about taking responsibility for protecting important information by crafting strong and unique passwords with characters, numbers,
and symbols.
Respect Each Other.
will discuss and challenge negativity and promote positivity and use the skills they have learned to block and report negative behaviours.
When in Doubt, Discuss
will encourage young people to challenge inappropriate behaviour and seek out a trusted adult to discuss situations that make them feel uncomfortable.
