Appeal For Witnesses Following Distraction Burglary in Binley Woods

Warwickshire Police are appealing for witnesses or information following a distraction burglary at a house in Binley Woods on Tuesday 21 May.

Between 4.45pm and 4.50pm, an elderly woman answered her front door on Rugby Road to an unknown man.

The man entered her house, telling the victim there was a BBQ taking place at the house next door and some food would be brought over.

As he was looking around the victim’s house, she became suspicious and told him to leave.

The suspect then left the property. Nothing was stolen.

The suspect is described as a white man, between 5ft 6ins and 5ft 8ins, of a medium build, believed to be around 20 years old. He had short dark hair and was wearing a dark coloured t-shirt and dark trouser bottoms.

Investigating officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or any suspicious behaviour in the area. If you have any information, please call Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 306 of 21 May 2019.

Alternatively, information can be given to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their website.
