Man Arrested Following Atherstone Shop Robbery

A man has been arrested in relation to a robbery that took place in Atherstone yesterday (Monday 24 June).

The robbery took place at Aldi in Station Street.

At 9.45pm, a man armed with two knives entered the store and demanded money from staff. He left empty handed.

A short time later a 20-year-old man from Bedworth was arrested in Benedict Close, Atherstone, on suspicion of robbery.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information that could help with enquiries to call 101 quoting incident 445 of 24 June 2019. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
