Alert Regarding Commercial Vehicles

Warwickshire Police advise that they have seen a small number of commercial vehicle thefts in the county over the past week.

Whilst officers work to investigate these offences, we are issuing the following advice:

Lock all doors and close all windows every time your vehicle is unattended, however briefly.

Always remove ignition keys and never leave the vehicle unattended with the engine running.

Always keep your vehicle keys in a safe place, out of sight and away from windows and doors.

Consider fitting number plate security screws and wheels with lockable wheel nuts.

Always park in secure, well lit car parks.

Invest in a professionally installed alarm.

Use a catalytic converter protection device, bracket and/or marking system.

Invest in a tracking system to enable you to track the vehicles location.

Take all your belongings with you when you leave your vehicle.  If you are unable to do this, ensure no items are left on display.
