Man Jailed For His Part in Burglaries Targeting Expensive Cars and Jewellery

A man has been jailed after cars and jewellery were stolen in 12 burglaries across Warwickshire, Coventry and Leicestershire.

David Lee Bradley, 29, was sentenced on Tuesday (22 September) after admitting conspiracy to burgle.

Bradley, formerly of Wappenbury Road, Coventry was handed a nine year nine month jail sentence.

Properties were targeted in Southam, Wolston, Long Lawford, Cawston, Nuneaton, Lutterworth, Warwick, Brandon, Hatton, Sharnford and Coventry. The offences occurred in December 2018 and January 2019.

Warwick Crown Court heard how four Audis were stolen as part of the conspiracies and in one burglary jewellery of great sentimental value was stolen.

The court heard a man’s car was taken after offenders broke into his home in Lutterworth and threatened him with a knife.

The vehicle was used in a ram raid in Coventry a few days after and was later seized from a shipping container bound for the Middle East.

In another offence, a homeowner in Brandon was punched to his face and body, and forced to hand over his car keys.

Police enquiries managed to place Bradley at the scenes of all the offences and he was arrested at the end of January 2019.

Police Staff Investigator Simon Hutton from Warwickshire Police Proactive CID said: “Bradley was part of a highly organised gang of criminals who terrorised homeowners across three counties. Where people got in their way they were threatened with violence.

“The length of the sentence reflects the severity of the offences and the terror Bradley caused in our communities.”

A 24-year-old man from Coventry was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison for his role in some of the offences in May 2019.
