Van Driver Arrested by Rural Crime Team Officers

PC Craig Purcell and PC Andy Steventon started early this morning following reports of concerns in the Gaydon area.  As they were patrolling the area they stopped the pictured transit van on the B4100 in the village.  They already knew that the insurance policy had been obtained fraudulently from work they had done earlier in the morning.

The Driver held an expired provisional licence and was arrested on suspicion of fraud and driving offences.  He has been lodged at Leamington Spa custody while we obtain statements and further evidence.

In relation to the unauthorised encampment in the area, PC Purcell advised that the Police accompanied a representative of the landowner shortly after 11am today as they issued a notice to quit the land.
