Appeal For Witnesses to Fatal Collision – A46, Snitterfield

Warwickshire Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Snitterfield yesterday morning (Friday, 23 October).

Officers were called to the A46 close to the junction with Snitterfield at around 7.25am following a report of a three vehicle collision.

The collision involved a silver Vauxhall Astra, a silver Ford Fiesta and a red Mercedes E Class.

The driver of the Vauxhall Astra, a man in his mid-20s, suffered fatal injuries and was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. While formal identification is yet to take place, his next of kin has been informed and is being supported by specialist Family Liaison Officers.

The driver of the Ford Fiesta, a woman in her 40s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where she remains. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The driver of the Mercedes, a woman in her 30s, suffered minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment.

Road closures were in place while emergency services were in attendance but these have since been lifted.

Sergeant Dan Hicks from Warwickshire Police said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or any of the vehicles involved prior to the incident, or has dash cam footage that could help with our investigation to please get in touch.

“This was a tragic incident and our thoughts remain with the man’s family and friends at this difficult time.”
