Special Constabulary Operation in North Warwickshire

Overnight on 8th-9th January, eight members of the Special Constabulary hosted an operation across North Warwickshire.
Officers located a vehicle in the car park of Shustoke Reservoir at 0300hrs. The female driver admitted to driving the motor vehicle whilst under the influence of drink, and subsequently provided a preliminary roadside breath test result of 42ug. Further checks revealed she was uninsured and also only had a provisional licence. A search of the vehicle was also conducted which was positive for cannabis.
The female was arrested and taken in to custody, where she provided a positive breath test of 57ug (legal limit being 35ug per 100ml breath).
Special Constables are volunteers who work for free in their spare time. They wear the same uniform as their regular counterparts and have the same policing powers, including the power of arrest.
