Update on Lamb Stolen Last Year in Long Marston, Stratford upon Avon.

A 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, both of an address in Pathlow have been sentenced in connection with this offence.
On Tuesday 21st April 2020 we received a report of a theft of a two week old lamb from a field near to Long Marston, Stratford upon Avon. This report came from a member of the public who described the vehicle involved.
Along with Patrol Officers and Shipston Police Safer Neighbourhood Team, the Rural Crime Team searched the surrounding area. Within 20 minutes Officers from E-Shift stopped a Vauxhall Vivaro in Welford on Avon. The pictured lamb was found inside.
With the help of a local Farmer we identified the exact location the lamb had come from. As we approached the field a single bleating sheep near the fence set the lamb off bleating. When it was placed back in the field the two ran together and the lamb immediately began to suckle.
Manalitho KINDON and the 16-year-old boy, who can’t be named for legal reasons were arrested at the scene and later interviewed and charged for this offence.
KINDON and the 16-year-old boy pleaded guilty to offences in relation to this at Warwickshire Magistrates Court.
KINDON has been sentenced to 6 months with a conditional discharge and ordered to pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and to pay a surcharge to fund victim service.
The 16-year-old boy has been sentenced to 3 months with a referral order whereby he has been referred to Warwickshire youth offender panel for a contract having effect for 3 months. He has also been ordered to pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and to pay a surcharge to fund victim service.
