Suspicious Incident Reported in Barnacle

On the morning of 6th January, 2021, two males in a white Vauxhall vehicle knocked on the door of at least two properties in Barnacle stating that they were from Hive.  They were not allowed into the houses and were sent away.  Checks with British Gas who provide the ‘Hive’ service confirm they were not their employees and it would be a British Gas engineer who would install the Hive service at a pre-agreed time and date and would have full identification.  If you live in the area or have relatives or friends that do so please make them aware to be vigilant.  Do not let anyone in your home unless you have prearranged this with the company and you are confident with their identification, also bearing in mind the present COVID restrictions.  If you have anyone come to your door stating they are from a company and you are at all concerned do not let them into your home, call the company directly to check the details and if you are not satisfied ask them to leave.  If there is anything suspicious please call the police.

If you saw these two people referred to and have any information that could assist the police with their enquiries, including possible CCTV or SatNav footage please advise us by either contacting us online at www.warwickshire.police.uk, via email at ruralwatch@warwickshire.pnn.police.uk or call 101, referring to inc 178 of 15/1/21.
