Detectives Appeal For Information Following Incidents in Leamington

Detectives from Leamington CID are appealing for information following a series of incidents in Leamington on the night of Friday 16th April.
The first incident occurred at around 9.10pm in Hanworth Close. The victim was approached by two males who demanded his e-scooter. He fled and the offenders left empty handed.
The second incident occurred in Cromer Road at around 9.30pm. Two males and a female brandishing weapons threatened a teenage boy and stole his electric scooter. The offenders fled in a dark vehicle.
The third incident occurred in Hanworth Close at around 10.40pm. Two males were reported to have smashed the windows on two cars parked in the close. The males were disturbed and fled on foot.
Detective Sergeant Pete Sherwood from Leamington CID said: “We are treating these incidents as linked and are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything. We’d also like to speak to anyone who has dash cam or CCTV footage from the area around the time of the incidents.
“It looks as though the offenders were targeting e-scooters; we will have additional patrols in the area but we would also encourage anyone with an e-scooter to show extra caution.”
Anyone with information that could help police with their enquiries can call 101. Alternatively information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
