Teams Join Together For Operation to Tackle ASB on Disused Line Between Offchurch and Draycote Water

Following recent reports of off-road vehicular anti-social behaviour and damage to agricultural land/crop, Kenilworth and Warwick Rural Police were joined today by Warks Police Off-Road Team Opu Warks, Warwickshire Rural Crime TeamSoutham Police and a representative from Sustrans

Our aim today was to engage with landowners and other persons in the local community, prevent/detect anti-social behaviour and road related offences, and educate any persons encountered. The dismantled railway line that runs from Offchurch to Draycote Water was patrolled, along with adjoining green lanes and main routes. Off-road vehicles are permitted on green lanes as long as the rider/driver holds the relevant licence and is insured etc. Off-road vehicles are not permitted on the dismantled railway line; this is for the use of pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders.

On this occasion no persons were encountered. Warwickshire Police will continue to monitor the area.
