Five People Arrested in Connection with Vehicle Crimes

Officers investigating vehicle crime in Warwickshire have made five arrests in less than 24 hours.

Officers seized a stolen motorbike from a house in Arnold Street, Rugby yesterday (Monday 24 May) afternoon. The motorbike had been stolen from Rugby last week. Two men from Rugby were arrested on suspicion of theft.

Two men from Coventry were arrested on suspicion of theft after officers stopped a stolen van on the M6 in the early hours of this morning.

A 16-year-old boy from Birmingham was arrested this morning on suspicion of theft of a bike from Coventry Road, Coleshill after the stolen bike was spotted for sale on Facebook.

Detective Inspector Collette O’Keefe from Warwickshire Police Proactive CID said: “Vehicle crime has a big impact on our communities. The arrests in the last couple of days and other recent arrests should reassure our communities that we are committed to taking action against those we suspect of being responsible.
