Stolen Caravan Recovered

During a shift supporting Stratford 999 response colleagues, the Rural Crime Team spotted a caravan turning into the Shell Petrol Station on Evesham Road, Stratford.

On speaking with the driver of the Land Rover, it transpired he had purchased the Elddis caravan 2 days prior from a private sale on Facebook marketplace.

Unfortunately for the gentleman our checks confirmed that the caravan was stolen from the Wakefield area in April 2004.

Understandably the gentleman was very upset to learn this information, and that we would be seizing the caravan so it can be returned to the rightful owners.

Had the gentleman conducted a NCC CRiS registration check before paying cash for the caravan, he would have been informed of its “Outstanding Stolen” classification.

Enquiries are ongoing in relation to the seller of the caravan.
