Two People Sentenced for Supplying Drugs

Great work by the local Atherstone Safer Neighboiurhood Team, with help from colleagues to an issue effecting the local area.
Following a Warwickshire Police investigation, two people have been sentenced to prison for supplying class A drugs in Nuneaton.
Delroy Facey, aged 60 of Atherstone Road, Nuneaton, and 41-year-old Lyndsey Hardy of Queen Elizabeth Road, Nuneaton, appeared at Coventry Crown Court yesterday (Monday 6 December) for sentencing.
The individuals were arrested following three police raids conducted by Nuneaton Proactive CID between June 2020 and January 2021 at a property on Queen Elizabeth Road in the town. On each occasion, large quantities of class A drugs, cash and weapons were recovered and substantial evidence of dealing was found.
£1000 in cash was seized, alongside heroin and crack cocaine with an approximate value of over £7000.
Hardy pleaded guilty on 8 November 2021 and Facey was found guilty following a trial on 15 November.
Yesterday, Hardy was sentenced to five years for being concerned in the supply of class A (heroin and crack cocaine) and Facey was given a seven year sentence for the same offence.
Following the outcome, PC Dan Lydster from Nuneaton Proactive CID said: “Offending of this nature is not a victimless crime – there are lots of victims across Nuneaton who are vulnerable because of their addiction to class A drugs.
“The defendants preyed upon these individuals and benefitted financially from it. They now have custodial sentences, and we hope they look to change their ways upon release.
“Nuneaton Proactive CID will relentlessly seek out individuals who continue to deal illegal drugs within our communities.”
A third individual, 54-year-old John Harrison of Queen Elizabeth Road, Nuneaton also pleaded guilty in connection with the offences and will be sentenced at Leamington Crown Court in January.
