Police Ask Public to Report Illegal Off Road Bike Riders

Most off road bikers behave responsibly and respect other road users.  However there is a small minority that choose to ride dangerously putting the public in danger as well as themselves.  In rural areas reports are also received of off road bikers riding on public footpaths and private land without permission, causing damage to land and crops, upsetting livestock and being anti social.  The Police are targeting these riders and taking action against them, seizing their bikes where relevant.

The Police are appealing to the public to help them identify anyone who rides an unregistered off road bike or quad on the highway so that they can be removed from the roads and take action against those causing issues in rural areas riding on land without permission. If you have any information that can help identify these riders please call 101, report online at www.warwickshire.police.uk; information can also be provided anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Warwickshire Police have an Off Road/Dual Purpose Bike Team who patrol in hot spot areas where issues are reported and take action against those committing offences.
