Warwickshire Police Rural Crime Team Recover Approx £100k of Vehicles

On Thursday last week the Rural Crime Team attended a location in South Warwickshire to make enquiries about an unrelated matter.  Whilst conducting their enquires, officers spotted a Toyota Hilux parked up next to a pair of Ifor Williams horse trailers.  It was found that the Toyota’s registration had recently been reported to police as acting suspiciously near horse trailers at a Gloucestershire farm.  When the Officers looked a little closer they discovered that the Hilux was displaying false number plates and that the true vehicles identity was recorded as stolen from the Gloucestershire area.
After a number of enquiries with different agencies it was confirmed that both horse trailers were also recorded as stolen.  They then also located other vehicles which were confirmed stolen which included an Ifor William’s tipper trailer, an Avondale Dart caravan, Ford Transit van, 3 further stolen caravans and two cars displaying false registration plates.
Huge thanks to the member of the public who reported the suspect vehicle to Gloucestershire Police a few weeks before.
