Ford Tipper Seized by Rural Crime Team

While conducting general patrols along the A5 near Dordon, Rural Crime Team Officers spotted this Ford Tipper driving with a very obviously insecure load.
After stopping the vehicle, officers did the “tyre kicker walk around” to check its condition, ensure the driver had all the appropriate paperwork to drive and to carry the scrap metal it was clearly loaded with.
Unfortunately for the driver he failed on all three counts.
1:- No waste carriers licence.
2:- Multiple vehicle defects (including a cracked windscreen).
3:- Vehicle insurance policy didn’t cover this type of work activity.
The driver was reported for the offences and the vehicle seized.

Our Rural Crime Team have had the pleasure of hosting a colleague from OPU Warwickshire for the last week on a temporary posting. The officer (who we shall affectionately call Colin) has spent the week with our RCT Officers expanding his understanding of rural issues and how our team focuses on making rural Warwickshire less of a target for offenders.
After his week long indoctrination to all things rural, the crowning moment for the team was capturing this image of Colin deep in thought as the recovery truck towed away the above seized tipper.
