Operation Dark Nights – Awareness Campaign
Warwickshire HorseWatch and Warwickshire Rural Crime Team are promoting ‘Operation Dark Nights’.
This is a national initiative to promote awareness of vulnerable road users, which includes horse riders and carriage drivers.
In support of The British Horse Society ‘Dead Slow’ campaign it includes raising the awareness of passing horses safely on the road by giving a minimum of 2 metres distance, where possible, and passing at no more that 10 miles per hour.
Horse owners are reminded that if they have footage of vehicles passing them dangerously to send to www.warwickshire.police.uk – Operation Snap and also advise the BHS at www.bhs.org.uk or via their ‘Horse i’ app.
