Operation Recall – Raising Awareness to Livestock Worrying and Responsible Dog Ownership
As the good weather is here at last and the grass is beginning to grow, it is great to see the fields with livestock in, especially new born and young of all kinds of animals.
Sadly we are also receiving reports of livestock worrying, including deaths and injury due to attacks by dogs on all kinds of animals, especially sheep.
Warwickshire Police, as well as other forces around the country are working together with partner agencies, such as the NFU, CLA, National Sheep Association, etc, to raise the awareness of people being responsible dog owners when anywhere near livestock.
Please keep your dog on a lead or in a secure area if left outside, as well as ensuring you pick up after your dog and put in a bin or take it home.
Please find attached a leaflet with information for dog owners relating to Operation Recall and what you can do to help – Op Recall – Leaflet A5 (New Brand) – NoMarkup
If you have livestock and would like one of our ‘Dog on Lead’ signs please email ruralwatch@warwickshire.police.uk.
Thank you.
