Arrests Made Following Thefts in Hillmorton
Following the arrest of an 18yr old male a few hours after a spate of thefts were reported in Hillmorton overnight 4th-5th August, Rugby OMU are pleased to report that an 18yr old male and a 17 year old male were also arrested for numerous offences on 8th August from an address in Cambridge Street, Rugby.
Police wish to thank members of the public for their amazing response in relation to a recent Facebook request to report all crimes and view all CCTV/Dashcam/Ring doorbell footage in HILLMORTON following these crimes.
As a result of people reporting their crimes even if only minor, it has allowed police to gain some valuable lines of enquiry which lead to the arrest of these 2 further suspects. It is a great example of the community working together with the police and how social media can assist in protecting our community from harm.
As a result of these arrests, a number of stolen items have been recovered and returned to their rightful owners, however some items are still outstanding and police need your help in identifying them! Did these come from your vehicle/garage/shed?
Police wish to re-assure residents that the suspects have been seen on numerous occasions physically trying car doors and house doors and they have found no evidence of them using any devices to unlock vehicles.
