Rural Crime Team Deal With Males Illegally Fishing

This week the Rural Crime Team received reports of illegal fishing in the Long Lawford area at a location regularly suffering with poaching and antisocial behaviour.

Five males are now under investigation for theft of fishing rights and several for fishing without licence. Their fishing equipment has been seized.
We are pleased that a private landowner won’t have to clean up or confront a group of unknown people doing as they please on his/her land, and children walking on nearby footpaths won’t have to walk through the stench of cannabis that we noticed on arrival.
Illegal fishing often comes hand in hand with antisocial behaviour and causes problems for those that participate in responsible and lawful fishing activity.
