Keyless Vehicle Thefts

Warwickshire Police are investigating six keyless vehicle thefts over the weekend:
-Motorbike stolen from Sorrell Road, Nuneaton overnight on Thursday/Friday
-Van stolen from St George’s Road, Atherstone overnight on Thursday/Friday
-Moped stolen from Dean’s Way, Bedworth overnight on Friday/Saturday
-BMW stolen from Brandon Lane, Coventry overnight on Saturday/Sunday
-Motorbike stolen from Charlotte Street, Rugby overnight on Friday/Saturday
-Motorhome stolen from Smithy Lane, Church Lawford sometime between Friday and yesterday
Enquiries are ongoing into all the thefts.
Remember:
•Make sure your car is properly locked and keep keys away from doors and windows. This will reduce the chance of criminals amplifying the signal.
•Some keys have a function allowing them to be turned off. Check your manual to see if yours does and then use it.
•Use some kind of physical barrier such as a steering wheel lock, driveway parking post or a wheel clamp. This will deter many criminals.
•Fit a tracking device.
•Keep your keys in a Faraday bag to block the signal.
•Remove batteries from your spare keys.
And remember, be on the lookout for people acting suspiciously and report it by calling 999.
